★★★★★ – Guardian.
Up-and-coming director Kris (Hannah Einbinder) is given the reigns of the cult “Camp Miasma” slasher series and is tasked with reinvigorating the franchise after years of unsuccessful sequels. With Kris having grown up a huge fan of Camp Miasma, she becomes obsessed with casting the original film’s final girl, Billy Presley (Gillian Anderson), and her pursuit of the now reclusive actress leads both women into psychological and sexual chaos.
The highly-anticipated third feature from Jane Shoenbrun (I Saw the TV Glow) is a perfectly cast, gloriously queer horror.
