Almost two decades after their paths first cross on a train to Vienna, we return to Jesse and Celine's relationship once more. The final instalment of Richard Linklater's Before Trilogy, screening over three successive Monday evenings this summer.
Almost two decades after their paths first crossed on a train to Vienna, we meet Jesse and Celine for a third time after another 9 years have passed. Set in Greece, Before Midnight has a more sober tone, the couple now middle-aged and navigating new contours of love and their lives.
Over three successive Monday evenings, we screen Richard Linklater’s breathtaking Before Trilogy – Before Sunrise, Before Sunset and Before Midnight. Spanning 18 years, we spend three days in the life of Jesse (Hawke) and Celine (Delpie), one of cinema’s most tender, bittersweet romances. From a youthful Viennese meet-cute, a serendipitous Parisian promenade, and a late summer reckoning by the Ionian Sea, experience the joys, passion, longing and pain of an ever-evolving love.
Screening as part of the Summer Lovin' season.
