An Amercian billionaire and his profligate children must sate the hunger of wolves that live in the forest outside their Spanish villa. Savage, black comedy satire.
Yorgos Lanthimos collaborator Efthimis Filippou (Dogtooth) pens this perverse, blackly comic satire on the unscrupulous uselessness of the rich. In a luxurious house in Spain, an American billionaire (Tracy Letts) lives with his profligate brood of talentless brats (Elle Fanning, Callum Turner, Jamie Bell, Riley Keough). As he grieves his wife – savaged by wolves in a nearby forest – his children run amok in unbridled decadence, save for their one responsibility: to sate the hunger of the wolves that killed their mother. Thorned with barbarous wit, this is an acerbic takedown of all the ways money eats your soul.
