Jim Jarmusch’s action thriller is an endearing concoction of assassins, gangsters, black comedy and samurai philosophy. Saved from the streets by a mobster in his youth, Ghost Dog is now a hitman who rigidly follows the ancient samurai warrior code, but when a job goes awry he finds himself at war with the mafia. Forest Whitaker is brilliant as the melancholy killer, and the celebrated soundtrack features a score from RZA plus songs from Wu-Tang Clan and Public Enemy.
