Set against the breathtaking yet turbulent backdrop of Gurez, a remote village on the India-Pakistan border, We Are Faheem and Karun is a tender and courageous tale of forbidden love.

Karun, a young security officer from southern India, is posted to this borderland outpost, where he encounters Faheem – a local Kashmiri man whose quiet charm begins to thaw Karun’s guarded heart.

The film will be followed by a Q&A with Queer Coffee Linkups, which will explore the film’s themes of queer love across religious and cultural divides, and the complexities of family acceptance, identity and political conflict. Queer Coffee Linkups is a community centring queer joy & stories, sharing art from & for all.

In Kashmiri, Hindi, Malayalam and English, with English subtitles.
