A young boy of Nigerian heritage, Femi enjoys a happy childhood in rural Lincolnshire with his white foster mother, but when his birth mother arrives to take him to live with her in inner-city London, Femi struggles with his new environment. Falling in with a local criminal and at war with himself as he struggles with conflicting parts of his identity, Femi must choose what sort of man he wants to be.
