Alex is active across the digital arts and creative coding, including co-founding the Algorave algorithmic dance music movement, and creating the TidalCycles live coding environment, and co-creating the Strudel port of TidalCycles to the web.
As researcher he works as part of the non-profit studio Then Try This, funded by a UKRI Future Leader Fellowship to explore Algorithmic Patterns – exploring heritage algorithms in craft and performing arts, to inform the development of new creative technology.
