Emerging from Depression era America in the 1930s, Screwball Comedies are characterized by their fast-paced, witty dialogue, farcical situations, and romantic storylines that often involved a battle of the sexes. This 6-week course will run at Phoenix on Thursdays, 2pm - 3.30pm, from 14 March – 18 April 2024.

You must be 18 or over to attend.

Alan Seaman is an experienced freelance film teacher who works for a wide variety of venues, particularly Phoenix, Derby’s Quad, and Broadway in Nottingham. His main areas of interest are British, Scandinavian and European cinema. Alan is also a stand-up comedian and comedy club compere, and is edging slowly and painfully towards completion of his first crime novel.
