Over the course of 6 weeks tutor Kenton Hall will help participants – at any level of acting experience – to develop their skills and techniques specific to film acting.

Over the course of 6 weeks tutor Kenton Hall will help participants – at any level of acting experience – to develop their skills and techniques specific to film acting, including exercises to develop effective screen presence and tips on understanding the film industry and an actor’s place within it.


We will be discussing varying approaches to film acting, watching a variety of styles of film performance and, later in the course, putting what you’ve learned into action.

This 6-week course will run at Phoenix on Tuesdays, 7pm – 9pm from 14 May – 18 Jun 2024.


You must be 18 or over to attend.

ABOUT THE TUTOR


Kenton Hall is an award-winning Canadian writer, director, musician, and teacher, with numerous short and feature film credits to his name – both behind and in front of the camera. Kenton also teaches a BTEC in Creative Media Production through Leicester College and The Art of Screenwriting here at Phoenix. He has played a variety of roles on stage and screen, from Les Miserables and Muppets Most Wanted to 4th Floor of Singapore and Father to Fall. He most recently wrote, directed, and co-starred in the feature film A Dozen Summers, published the comic memoir Bisection, about living and parenting with bipolar disorder, and co-wrote the Audible Drama Getting Better, starring Rhod Gilbert, Kathryn Drysdale, and Mark Gatiss.
