Big Trouble in Little China (15)

John Carpenter’s cult classic, about a goofily confident trucker who unexpectedly ends up in a supernatural battle between good and evil, is a perfect genre-busting mash-up of comedy and 80s action – with martial arts, fantasy tropes and even romance thrown in for good measure!

Kurt Russell (Escape from New York) plays Jack Burton, a goofily confident trucker who unexpectedly ends up in a supernatural battle between good and evil.

John Carpenter’s cult classic is a perfect genre-busting mash-up of comedy and 80s action – with martial arts, fantasy tropes and even romance thrown in for good measure – though the knowing performances elevate Big Trouble in Little China from B-movie fodder.

Screening as part of our '80s season, coinciding with the brilliant I Grew Up 80s exhibition taking place at Leicester Museum & Art Gallery until the end of August.
