Learn how to get the most out of your film in the edit suite with this guide to the art of film editing, led by tutor Keith Allott.
Over the course of five weeks you’ll look at the different types of editing techniques used by editors to evoke reactions from audiences – from the first steps of organising your workload and creating your film’s visual style, to colour grading and mastering your film to perfection.
NOTE: You'll be using Final Cut Pro (and possibly Premiere Pro too) throughout the course.
Week 1: An introduction to editing techniques
Week 2: Organising your work structure and getting started
Week 3: Creating a visual style and stylistic consistency
Week 4: Rough cut / first cut / fine cut / final cut
Week 5: Grading, audio mixing and mastering
This course will be delivered in person at Phoenix. Capacity is limited to 9 participants to enable social distancing.
