Set in the 1790, Celine Sciamma’s (Girlhood) stunning period romance follows the growing connection between an artist and her elusive subject. Sciamma explores love, autonomy, and the gaze with profound sensitivity, and perfectly captures the intensity of forbidden desire.
The film will be introduced by Dr Christina Wilkins from the University of Birmingham.
Leicester Queer Film Club is a new bi-monthly social and cinematic event that offers thoughtful introductions, space for discussion and a welcoming environment that celebrates LGBTQ+ stories, followed by drinks in Phoenix’s Café Bar.
