Fate lays a hand when Shizuku discovers every book she takes out from the library has been taken out by someone else before her, “Seiji Amasawa.” A love story set in the original “data centre” – the library, Whisper of the Heart is a love letter to books, reading and pursuing your calling. Shizuku’s voracious passion for books and writing leads her to meet both a mysterious and magical cat and Seiji, a boy determined to follow his dreams. A gem in the Studio Ghibli catalogue, Whisper of the Heart is a charming coming-of-age tale about listening to and following the whispers of your own heart. Adapted from a Manga of the same name, and based on a screenplay and storyboard of Hayao Miyazaki, this 1995 film is the final and only feature film from Studio Ghibli animator Yoshifumi Kondō.

Screening in both the originl Japanese with English subtitles and English dub.
