Screening to mark Holocaust Memorial Day, i was 8814 is a deeply moving documentary capturing the experiences of 92 year old Hanna Zack Miley, a Jewish child survivor of Hitler’s brutal Nazi regime. Torn from her parents and her home, Hanna found herself aboard a transport bound for England aged seven, she was number 8814.


Here, she recounts her memories of Hitler’s parade through her hometown, the cruelties of ghettoisation, her parents’ murder, and her own escape on the kindertransport, while detailing her difficult journey toward reconciliation with the past.
