Back by popular demand, director Marc Evans assembled a superb cast for this biopic on the early life of actor Richard Burton, with national treasure Toby Jones starring as the Welsh schoolmaster who took the wild young schoolboy under his wing.
With Richard determined to become an actor, Mr. Burton recognises the raw talent the boy has and sets out to help him, while a difficult home life and the pressures of war threaten to derail the rebellious students’ dreams. Lesley Manville (Mrs. Harris Goes to Paris) stars as Mr. Burton’s landlady and confidante, while rising star Harry Lawler (Industry) plays the young Jenkins.
